Ecuador Mountain Guides
Ecuador Mountain Guides is made up of a group of guides with many years of climbing and mountain guiding experience throughout the world. Our knowledge of the country and the experience earned over the years allows us to organize and guide throughout all of Ecuador, as well as outside of Ecuador in countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina.
Ecuador Mountain Guides is a legally recognized and registered company in the ministry of tourism with all working permits and licenses granted as required by the organizations of regulation and control in Ecuador.
We organize tours in the 4 regions of Ecuador: the Coast, the Galapagos, the Amazon, and the Highlands where our snow and ice covered volcanos are located. Because of the diverse geography of the country, we are able to organize tours that include cycling, trekking, jungle hikes, paragliding, white water rafting, canyoning, horseback riding, community tourism, Indigenous markets, volunteer, and climbing the highest active volcanoes on the planet.
Our team
Rómulo Cárdenas - After finishing his laws studies in the Central university of Quito, he started his adventure guiding career. It has taken him to the jungle, treassure hunting, river rafting, kayaking, indian villages etc. Flying the ultralight with his partner Jorge Anhalzer he was lucky to go over the ecuadorian summits, to enjoy the landscape of the Andes from above as far as la Patagonia and to cooperate like his assistant in more than a dozen of ecuadorian coffee table books about Ecuador and south America.
He is been involved with International Mountain Guides for more tan 25 years guiding in Ecuador, south América, Alaska, Antártica, Russia. When he is not climbing, he will be travelling around Ecuador with his partner for new book projects , farming in the highlands or harvesting cocoa and coffee in the lowlands with his wife and son.
He has good skills in english and his large guiding experience is always a plus for trips.
Jorge Anhalzer jr - Young guy eager to climb mountains and enjoy life at a young age has extensive experience in the mountains of South America and Alaska, finished his studies in Australia , he enjoys photography as his father.
Dario Rodriguez- Loves adventure and extreme sports. He is a paragliding pilot and a rock climbing and white water rafting guide. He also enjoys climbing the mountains of Ecuador.
Jorge Núñez - Since he was very young he has climbed the mountains in his country and throughout South America. He is a UIAGM guide and is one of the instructors in Aseguim (Association of Ecuador Mountain Guides). He practices canyoning and paragliding. He is professional guide through Asdguim Ecuador, AGMTB Bolivia, and Ensa Chamonix-France.
